1. How long does it take to design a web site?

A typical web site will take from 1-3 weeks to design and build, for an E-commerce web site it may take 1 week longer. Here is what the web design process includes:

  1. You fill out a web design worksheet that describes your goals for your web site, how many pages you would like it to be, the style, etc.
  2. I.T. Web Experts lays out a web design preview/layouts for you to view and make comments on.
  3. I.T. Web Experts codes the web site and navigation.
  4. You review the web site and request any needed changes.
  5. Web Site is posted to your domain name www.yourname.com

2. What are the costs involved in having a web site designed?

I.T. Web Experts offers reasonable prices. While some web designers choose to list all of their web packages on their web site with prices, we price each project individually because they can vary a lot in the amount of design time and coding time needed. The price quoted for your project will depend on the following factors:

1. How many web pages you would like
2. How many products and product categories you have
3. How many graphics you need designed
4. How much animation (Flash) you need on your web site
5. If you need custom scripts such as bulletin boards, email managers, etc.
6. If you supply the web site layout and text

3. Can I modify my own web site once you design it?
  • If it is an E-commerce site you may modify the product descriptions and pricing via a the built-in control panel
  • You may modify the code of the site once we design it in an html editor such as Macromedia Dreamweaver (this is at your own risk)
  • At extra cost we have an EasyManage content management system available to make editing your site available for even non-technical users
4. Where can I find pictures for my web site if I do not already have them?

Here are some stock photo picture resources::

www.imageafter.com: Free way to find pictures for your web site.
www.istockphoto.com: Inexpensive way to find pictures for your web site.
www.dreamstime.com: Inexpensive way to find pictures for your web site.
www.comstock.com: Professional royalty free images
www.creatas.com: Large selection of royalty free images
www.photos.com: Subscription based image web site
www.clipart.com: Subscription based clip art web site
www.ablestock.com: Subscription based image web site

5. How many revisions can I make to the web site during the design process?

We will work with you until you are 100% satisfied with your web site design.

6. Do you offer web site maintenance?

Absolutely, please refer to our web site maintenance service page.

7. What is Flash?

Flash is a technology for the web that allows you to add animation, music, and video to your web site. Flash technology was developed by Macromedia in order to allow web sites to add multimedia without long download times and complex coding. Some web sites will use Flash with a lot of loud, in your face style. Others choose to use Flash subtly to add slight motion or soothing music. If you have been to a web site that has some sort of animated intro, then you have just viewed a Flash animation.

8. What is web hosting?

Web hosting allows your Web site to be connected to the Internet at high speed via a Web server so its information can be viewed globally through a browser. Metaphorically speaking, renting space on a server is comparable to renting an apartment. For a monthly fee, you reside in that apartment and all maintenance is the responsibility of the property. You also have access to certain amenities that would otherwise be a costly investment. A Web hosting company houses your Web site on its own secure servers, enabling you to affordably leverage the power of a high-speed network, 24/7 expert monitoring and support, and state-of-the-art technology.

9. How do I accept Credit Cars on my E-commerce web site?

To accept credit cards you will need to either have a PayPal account or set up a merchant account at a bank. We recommend setting up a merchant account because PayPal requires your customers to have a separate account with PayPal. Merchant accounts usually cost about $200-$300 to set up and then $20-$35 a month depending on what payment processor you use. Some of the most common payment processors are Authorize.net, USAepay, Verisign, Ipayment, PSIgate, and 2checkout. To set up an account you can call Humboldt Merchant Services at 800-682-0454. Humboldt Merchant Services offers a variety of different processors.

10. What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept checks, cashier's checks, money orders, PayPal, and most credit cards.

11. What is your 100% satisfaction guarantee?

We are so confident you will be happy with our services that we offer you a 100% satisfaction guarantee. In the event that you are not satisfied, you may request a complete refund.
